Text Boxes
This page includes text box/graph margins that you need to use on your poster to ensure that your poster will print well.
TEXT BOX MARGINS
When using a text box with the background filled with a color, a graph, or a table, it is important to make sure that your margins are big enough so that your text doesn't go too close to the edge. Below are the margin settings that you should start with on your poster, and you can adjust from there.
Text Boxes: All margins set to 0.5"
Graphs and Tables: All margins set to 0.25"
To add a new textbox to your template follow this tutorial. In order to change the margins of your desired box, have the text box selected, and click on the orange "Shape Format" label on the top bar of PowerPoint. If you are on a Mac computer, click on the "Format Pane" button on the far right. If you are on a PC, click the small square and arrow icon on the bottom right corner of the Text Options portion of the banner across the top. On either type of computer, a window pane will appear from the right side of the screen. Select "Text Options", and then click on the third icon underneath the Text Options button. You will then be able to edit your text box and change the margin sizes.
